Picture yourself standing arm in arm with others on a hillside, united in purpose. In those moments, there is a realization that life is meant to be shared. We are social creatures and there is strength in being part of a greater whole. You were created for the community. Relationships fuel and strengthen our shared lives. Our relationships bring vitality to life.
“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.” (1 Corinthians 12:12 ESV)
The body is a metaphor for both the church and life. Each part of the body serves an indispensable function; and each person plays a role within the community. That interconnectedness is an expression of strength, support, and care for one another.
“Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.” (1 Corinthians 12:27 ESV)
Each participant brings something valuable to the community when we unite in purpose. Our diversity brings strength and Christ desires unity for His body, the Church. Our differences become a mosaic of diversity to the vibrant community of Christ.
