Bring God everything

Posted on August 30, 2019August 28, 2019

‘ But we your people, the sheep of your pasture, will give thanks to you forever; from generation to generation we will recount your praise.’ Psalms 79:13

God, your care for us, is forever worthy of our gratitude. May every moment of our lives be a demonstration of the praise and worship that you deserve.

‘ But let your hand be on the man of your right hand, the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself! Then we shall not turn back from you; give us life, and we will call upon your name!’ Psalms 80:17-18

“Son of Man” is a title that Jesus used, of himself to emphasize his humanity. That he came from the human race to be a bridge between God and people. The psalm writer says that his strength honors God and that we will be faithful because that ability comes from God.

‘ How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.’ Psalms 84:1-2

The courts of the Lord, anyplace dedicated to worship. The spiritual beauty of the community that gathers to “sing for joy” to the LIVING God.

‘Jesus looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the offering box, and he saw a poor widow put in two small copper coins. And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” ‘ Luke 21:1-4

It doesn’t take much to honor God in worship, just everything. Like this poor widow, we don’t come bringing much. Everything.
