A seed spends most of its life buried — invisible, apparently inactive, indistinguishable from something dead. But the work breaking toward the surface is already happening in the dark. Burial and growth are not opposites in the natural world. They are the same process, just viewed from different sides.
We are the Lord’s — “For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.” (Romans 14:8-9 ESV) How are you living as though you belong to yourself?
Hidden with Christ — “For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.” (Colossians 3:3-4 ESV) How are you performing from an identity that isn’t you?
Spiritual Move: Solitude & Retreat — The practice of withdrawing from the noise and demands of ordinary life to be alone with God. A time of intentional quiet to create space where the soul can be heard and attended to. “But Jesus often withdrew to desolate places and prayed.” (Luke 5:16 ESV)
