Ancient olive trees in the Mediterranean have been producing fruit for over a thousand years. They have survived drought, fire, war, and neglect. The root system is so deep and extensive that even when the trunk is destroyed, new growth emerges from what remains underground.

Tested and Crowned — “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” (James 1:12 ESV) Where is steadfastness being built in you through something you would not have chosen?

Whoever Has the Son — “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son does not have life.” (1 John 5:12 ESV) Where are you still trying to earn what can only be received?

Spiritual Move: Forgiveness — Forgiveness is the practice of releasing an offense and the person who caused it, choosing reconciliation over resentment. It is not condoning what happened but refusing to be bound by it. “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32 ESV)
