The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away.’ Psalms 90:10
Toil and trouble during the span of life. Then “…we fly away.”
‘ For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’ Psalms 91:11-12
The devil knows the scripture, when he tempts Christ in the wilderness he quotes this passage. Even Jesus knew “toil and trouble.” He overcame by submitting to God’s plan for his life.
‘ He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge— the Lord —knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath.’ Psalms 94:9-11
Hearing and seeing points us to the one who intelligently designed us. He designed us to listen and have vision. This is how we are guided and know (listening). This is how we move forward for His purposes (vision).
‘ Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!’ Psalms 95:1
For the glory of God. Give praise to his and acknowledge his salvation.
‘And Pilate asked him, “Are you the King of the Jews?” And he answered him, “You have said so.” Then Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no guilt in this man.” But they were urgent, saying, “He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, from Galilee even to this place.” ‘ Luke 23:3-5
The governor of Judea asks Jesus are you the king? Even the Roman authority declares Jesus innocent of treason. But the Jewish leaders consider Jesus a revolutionary, and that he is.
