God designed humanity with this wonderful spiritual capability. Carrying out our creative ability is part of that life. Spiritually, we co-create with God.
“And He has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship.” (Exodus 35:31 ESV)
Creativity is a divine gift. In Exodus, God filled Bezalel with the Spirit to equip him with the skill needed for his craft. God is the source of creativity so humans fulfill their callings. Building hands, solving problems, and discovering new ways to serve are all part of God’s design.
“For He is rightly instructed; his God teaches him.” (Isaiah 28:26 ESV)
Isaiah states that the ability to create is guided by God. The creative spark is nurtured by God, reflecting His wisdom and grace. Our creativity becomes more than just an expression of our talents, but a way to give God glory and credit for how he made us.
Reflection: In what ways do you experience creativity in your life, in work, art, or service? How can you invite God into the process of your work? Journaling Prompt: Write about a time when you felt inspired or creative. How did God’s guidance influence what you created? Prayer: Lord, thank You for filling me with Your Spirit and the gift of creativity. Help me to see how You inspire my work. May my skills and talents glorify You. Amen.
