We all want to know the way. There’s a pat before us, a way to navigate the unknown. If you’ve ever stubbed your toe in the dark, you know the value of light. You know there’s a right and a wrong way to get from point A to point B.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105 ESV).
When you need help finding your way, a guide, an informant, the proper equipment and a light on the path is critical. We all have times we need guidance, the truth and reality before us are must be brought into clarity.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5 ESV).
What is the light that shines in the darkness? The Truth, the Way, a means of discovering the how to successfully move in a world of darkness.
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12 ESV).
Jesus has a clear understanding of his identity. He is the answer to the most difficult questions of life. He is the Word of John 1, the philosophical Logos and the practical Message for us and for the world. Here’s a practice that you could try.
