A strong foundation brings stability to everything built upon it.
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” (Psalm 18:2 ESV)
God provides security during life’s uncertainties. Storms come but those anchored on a strong foundation will stand firm.
“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24 ESV)
Jesus brought God’s Word and lived it. Obedience to Christ gives strength so that our faith can withstand life’s difficulties. Paul reminds us:
“For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 3:11 ESV)
When our foundation is unshakable, there is peace, purpose, and direction. Take time to examine your foundation. Are you are relying on something other than Christ for stability?
Try this practice; Confession and Self-Examination: Set aside time to reflect on your spiritual condition. Is anything weakening your faith, causing doubts, distractions, or misplaced priorities? Confess these and recommit to standing firmly on the reality and truth of Christ, your unshakable rock.
