Just as the moon reflects the sun’s light, illuminating the night sky, we are called to reflect God’s love in a world often shrouded in darkness. The moon has no light of its own but shines brightly by reflecting the sun’s rays. In the same way, we are vessels of God’s love, made to reflect His goodness to others. Our lives are meant to shine with His light, radiating love, compassion, and truth in all that we do. When we reflect His light, others are drawn closer to Him.
“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16 ESV).
This verse emphasizes the importance of our actions in displaying God’s character. Jesus spoke these words during the Sermon on the Mount, urging His followers to live in a way that visibly honors God. Our good works aren’t for our recognition but are meant to direct others toward God, bringing Him glory. When we serve with love and kindness, we become a living testimony of His grace.
Sometimes, we may feel inadequate or too dim to reflect God’s love fully. Fear of failure or judgment can prevent us from acting in service to others. But God doesn’t ask for perfection—He simply calls us to be willing vessels, shining His light wherever we go.
Spiritual Move: Service—Service is a tangible way to reflect God’s love. Be intentional in showing kindness today, offering encouragement or support to someone in need. Journal Prompt: Who in your life needs to experience the light of God’s love through your actions? How can you serve them this week with kindness or generosity?
