The Seed’s Surrender: A seed lay buried deep in the soil, surrounded by darkness. It seemed as though it was lost, but in time, the seed began to change. It split open, dying in its original form, and from it, new life sprouted. The seed’s sacrifice was not in vain, for it grew into a strong plant, bearing fruit that nourished many. Like the seed, we must surrender our old selves to grow, trusting that through sacrifice, God will bring forth abundant life, connected to Him and others.
Dying to Live: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” (John 12:24 ESV
Growth and fruitfulness come through surrender and sacrifice. Just as a seed must die to produce life, we must let go of the old to embrace God’s transformative power.
Life Through Knowing God: “And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” (John 17:3 ESV)
True life is found not only in surrender but in intimately knowing God. Eternal life begins now, as we deepen our relationship with the Creator.
Spiritual Move – Discipleship: To grow more like Christ and help others do the same, build a community of faith. Follow Jesus through study, prayer, and obedience. Encourage others to walk in faith, offering mentorship or receiving guidance in a discipleship relationship. Embrace surrender as a key part of your growth, trusting that God will use it to bring forth fruit in your life and the lives of others.
Journal Prompts: What part of your life do you need to release to God so that He can bring forth new growth and fruitfulness? How can you support someone else on their discipleship journey, helping them to grow in faith and surrender to God?
