Growth begins with clarity. In a world full of noise, distraction, and uncertainty, we long to see clearly—to understand what is true, what is good, and what really matters. That’s where the first two Moves begin: Light and Water—both connected to the spiritual trait of the Mind.
Light: Illumination and Vision
Light reveals what’s hidden. It exposes truth and gives us the vision to walk wisely.
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it” (John 1:5 ESV).
In Scripture, light often symbolizes divine wisdom and direction. It doesn’t just help us see; it helps us discern. To move in the Light is to walk in clarity, to let God’s truth shape how we think and what we believe.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105 ESV).
Water: Flow and Discernment
Where Light gives us vision, Water teaches us movement. Water is adaptable, decisive, and life-giving.
“Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again” (John 4:14 ESV).
Jesus speaks of Living Water—a symbol of the Spirit at work in us, refreshing our thoughts, helping us respond to life’s changes with clarity instead of fear. Water teaches the Mind to stay soft and responsive to God, not rigid or stuck.
Together, Light and Water train us in discernment. They help us renew our minds, sharpen our focus, and align our thoughts with God’s wisdom.
