To grow spiritually, we need more than insight—we need resilience. The spiritual trait of Strength helps us stay grounded in truth, even when life feels unstable. The Moves of Land and Time teach us how to build that kind of inner strength.
Land: Stability and Identity
Land represents foundation. God gives His people ground to stand on—a space to live, grow, and trust in His promises.
“Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised” (Joshua 1:3 ESV).
Spiritually, Land reminds us of our identity and calling. It asks us: Where are we rooted? What truth holds us in place? Even when we face the curse of the land or disruption in the world, God remains our unshakable refuge.
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer” (Psalm 18:2 ESV).
Time: Rhythm and Endurance
Time shapes us through seasons. It teaches patience, growth, and perseverance.
“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter… shall not cease” (Genesis 8:22 ESV).
In the Move of Time, we learn that spiritual maturity doesn’t happen instantly. We grow through rhythms, through daily habits of faithfulness. Strength is built when we recognize God’s timing—even when it feels slow—and trust that His seasons bring life.
Together, Land and Time call us to a grounded faith. They help us become people who don’t just survive hardship but stand firm and grow stronger through it.
Reflect and Respond
- Where is God asking you to stand firm?
- What season are you in, and how is God shaping you through it?
