And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. (Exodus 13:21 ESV)
The divine presence led Israel night and day.
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?. (Psalm 27:1 ESV)
God is called light and salvation. A strength so strong, there is no need to fear. This light is a protecting presence.
And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not know, in paths that they have not known I will guide them. I will turn the darkness before them into light, the rough places into level ground. These are the things I do, and I do not forsake them. (Isaiah 42:16 ESV)
There is an answer to spiritual blindness. New life and sight provides a path forward. Even darkness is light and the way is made smooth.
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”. (John 8:12 ESV)
For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. (Ephesians 5:8 ESV)
Contemplation: Focusing on the presence of God in all things.
Make times of solitude to contemplate the lessons of creation; ask for eyes to see.
