Rebirth is about restoration—taking what is broken and making it whole again. We have all experienced entropy, the natural tendency of things to fall apart, and we recognize the need for reordering through restoration. When things break down, continuing to use them requires the skill of restoration. Restoration projects are meaningful because they reflect the redemptive work of the Divine. It is a process of renewal, where something beautiful emerges from what was once lost. Just as a classic car is carefully restored to its original shine, so too are our lives renewed. Through grace, we are restored, our strength replenished, and what was lost is found again. We are set on a firmer foundation, ready for the next chapter.
“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace… will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” (1 Peter 5:10 ESV)
Suffering and hardship may leave us feeling worn down. God promises that He will restore us. His restoration goes beyond just returning us to our former state—it makes us stronger and more deeply rooted in faith. Rebirth in Christ means that even after seasons of loss, we emerge with renewed strength, firmly grounded in His grace.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3 ESV)
God’s work of restoration is personal and intentional. He sees our wounds, our failures, and our brokenness, yet He does not leave us there. Like a master restorer, He carefully tends to our hearts, bringing healing and renewal. Though the process of rebirth can be painful, it leads us to a deeper life, full of strength and purpose.
“Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.” (Colossians 3:13 ESV)
“As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:12 ESV)
