The Potter’s Breath: In a quiet workshop, a potter shaped a lump of clay, molding it carefully until it took form. After hours of delicate work, the vessel was ready, but it was still lifeless. The potter gently blew air into the vessel, and in that moment, the clay seemed to come alive, strong, and ready to serve its purpose. Just as God breathed life into Adam, giving him purpose, the potter’s breath symbolized the life that only the Creator can give—one that evolves and transforms under His care and guidance.
“Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.” (Genesis 2:7 ESV)
Life comes from God, making us entirely dependent on His breath for vitality and purpose.
“In him was life, and the life was the light of men.” (John 1:4 ESV)
Jesus is the source of all life, not just in the beginning, but continually, sustaining all that lives in Him.
