A potter’s hands move with practiced rhythm—pressing, shaping, refining. The wheel turns, transforming humble clay into something useful and beautiful. Each deliberate movement, skillfully performed, reflects dedication. Similarly, your hands have learned to lead, organize, create, or repair. Though routine, these skills come from effort and purpose. When used to serve others, they go beyond simple tasks, becoming acts of ministry—work that reflects the Creator’s craftsmanship.

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” (1 Peter 4:10 ESV)

God gives each person unique gifts as an expression of His grace. These talents are not meant to be hidden or hoarded, but shared in service to others. When we use what we’ve been given for the good of others, we honor God as faithful stewards of His generosity.

“Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 ESV)

Our work can be a visible witness of God’s presence in our lives. When we carry out our responsibilities with excellence and integrity, others notice. The ultimate goal is not praise for ourselves, but that God would be glorified through the quality and character of our work.

Spiritual Move: Ministry

Ministry in the workplace means engaging with colleagues and others through acts of service and care. Whether through supporting coworkers, offering counsel, or living with integrity, your work becomes an extension of God’s kingdom, advancing His purposes in the world.

Journal & Discuss:

1. What hinders you from using your skills as a form of service?

2. How can you reflect God’s character through the way you approach your work?

3. Who has served you well through their professional role? What impact did that have on you?
