A philosopher called us thrown creatures. We were dropped into a situation and a world, not of our choosing, we didn’t ask for this. We could complain about it or find the beauty of the place all around us, the beauty of the story of which we are a part.
Divine Possession — “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.” (Psalm 24:1 ESV) How do I feel when I think about living in a world that isn’t mine?
Joyful Overflow — “The pastures of the wilderness overflow, the hills gird themselves with joy, the meadows clothe themselves with flocks, the valleys deck themselves with grain, they shout and sing together for joy.” (Psalm 65:12-13 ESV) Where do I see abundance and joy in the world?
Daily Provision — “You cause the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth.” (Psalm 104:14 ESV) How does the world provide for me every day?
Sacred Responsibility — “The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.” (Genesis 2:15 ESV) How am I caring for what I’ve been given?
Spiritual Move: Gratitude – Recognize and give thanks for the provisions all around you.
