Land 4: Harvesting the Land
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9 ESV)
Paul encourages believers to persevere in doing good, knowing that the harvest will come in God’s timing. Harvest is the culmination of faithful labor. When we remain steadfast in sowing good seeds—whether through acts of kindness, love, or service—we can trust that God will bring about a harvest. This verse reminds us to stay diligent in our work, as the rewards of faithful living are sure to come.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” (Matthew 9:37 ESV)
In Matthew 9:37, Jesus speaks of the abundant harvest that awaits those who are willing to work in His fields. There is no shortage of opportunities to share God’s love and truth with others. The challenge is the lack of laborers—those who are willing to invest time and effort in the kingdom of God. We are called to be those laborers, joining in the work of the harvest by actively sharing the gospel and living out the love of Christ.
“Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.” (John 4:35 ESV)
“He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.” (Proverbs 10:5 ESV)
Practice: Take time today to reflect on how you can contribute to God’s harvest. Ask Him to show you where He is calling you to sow seeds of faith and love in the lives of others.

Wendell Berry wrote,
“He remains in what he serves by vanishing in it, becoming what he never was.”
My thought:
Our love and good deeds form an enduring legacy; our faithful labors culminate in becoming part of the harvest, blending into the agape. No longer in exile, or estranged from the beloved, but living as the essence of all creation.
