Identify and Praise

Posted on August 27, 2019August 27, 2019

I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving. – Psalms 69:30

The name, discover the one, you believe in, and praise that God. Then, and this isn’t politically correct, let others know God and your story. What has God done for you? How will that help those around you. It will help them decide where their commitment and allegiance lies.

May all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you! May those who love your salvation say evermore, “God is great! – Psalms 70:4

The Psalmist is asking that seekers of the true God would be worshippers would find the truth of God’s greatness.

‘ O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.’ – Psalms 71:17-18

When David looks at the span of his life, he proclaims that God has taught him and what he has learned, he must pass on to the next generation.

And taking the twelve, he said to them, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written about the Son of Man by the prophets will be accomplished. For he will be delivered over to the Gentiles and will be mocked and shamefully treated and spit upon. – Luke 18:31-32

Through the psalms we see the constant reminder of salvation and here in Luke we discover the key to that salvation. The Son of Man, Jesus would be offered up in accordance with the predictive preaching of the prophets. The people of planet earth reject Jesus and he prepares to give himself to show us where we are and how to move forward.
