- Rely on a light source to get through the darkness.
- Watch your step and the path ahead.
Proverbs 2:3-6 – “Yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”
- Wisdom is personified in the book of Proverbs.
- Wisdom’s valuable, like silver. Sometimes, Wisdom is hidden, be diligent in your search.
- Respect and awe may be better translations for fear.
- Wisdom is a gift, a grace from God, He is the source of knowledge and understanding.
John 8:31-32 – “So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, ‘If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.'”
- Abiding means to live or make our home.
- Jesus’ words are a comfortable living place for his disciples.
- Familiarity and knowledge come from spending time, in this word soaked dwelling.
Ephesians 5:8-10 – “for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.”
- This life brings Jesus’ followers out of the darkness.
- Children of the light, discern what is pleasing to the Lord.
James 1:5 – “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”
- Ask in prayer for wisdom.
- God will generously give insight to those who ask.
