Release and Receive — “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7 ESV) What anxiety are you holding right now that you need to bring directly to God?
Sweet Sleep — “If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.” (Proverbs 3:24 ESV) What would it take for you to lie down tonight without fear?
Spiritual Move: Lectio Divina — Take Philippians 4:6-7 and read it slowly four times. Lectio: receive the words. Meditatio: stay with whatever phrase arrests you. Oratio: turn it into an honest prayer about what you are anxious about. Contemplatio: rest in the peace that the passage promises. Let the Scripture do what worry cannot. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105 ESV)
