Imagine a strategy in which the common elements of our life and experience are used to explore spirituality. 8 Moves introduces a strategy in which we look at the created things of the universe and learn the spiritual lessons behind them. These eight themes of creation: Light, water, land, time, life, work, rest, and rebirth — are the beginning of discovering how God makes disciples through the common metaphors and pictures of our daily existence. Consider the picture of a field above. What does it take to receive a harvest? You’ll need light, land to plant on, water to irrigate, time and timing and patience, life — seeds to plant that will propagate, work at tilling and sowing… oh and you can’t work all the time, so you’ll need rest — and at the end of it all we will give God praise. Our response to the multitude of gifts, God has provided, through the creation, we’ll take a closer look at our reactions, responses, thoughts, feelings, understanding, and actions. We will observe and receive the wisdom of creation to understand the context and our response to God’s life gift—the story of God in Creation, our story in response to his provision and love. So today is one of the 60-day devotional, meditative, contemplative journeys. Come along and live the life with us.
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
