In the Power of Resurrection
“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live'” (John 11:25 ESV).
Jesus speaks to Martha in her moment of grief, offering not just comfort but profound hope. His words remind us that physical death is not the final word for those who believe in Him. Resurrection is not merely an event but a person—Jesus Christ. He is the source of eternal life, and through Him, we are invited to live with the assurance that death has been defeated. This powerful declaration shifts our focus from temporal concerns to the eternal promises of God. It invites us to trust in the life-giving power of Jesus, even when we face the darkest moments.
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved” (Ephesians 2:4-5 ESV).
Before we were spiritually reborn, we were dead in sin. Yet, through Christ’s mercy and love, we are made alive, not by our own efforts, but through grace. This rebirth is a gift, one we can only receive by faith in Jesus. As believers, we now live with the understanding that God’s grace sustains us, and our new life in Christ is not temporary but eternal. Let us walk in this truth daily, rejoicing in the resurrection power that lives within us.
Prayer: Lord, help me to live in the power of Your resurrection, remembering that You have given me eternal life by grace. Let my life reflect Your love and mercy. Amen.
Through Obedience
“He who believes in the Son has eternal life; he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him” (John 3:36 ESV).
Eternal life is not a distant concept but a present reality for those who believe in Jesus. This verse highlights the contrast between belief and disobedience, showing that our faith must be lived out in obedience to Christ. It is not enough to acknowledge Jesus with words; our actions must align with our faith. Those who choose to live apart from Christ remain under God’s judgment. However, for those who believe and obey, there is the assurance of eternal life, a promise that extends beyond the confines of this world.
“And this is the promise that he made to us—eternal life” (1 John 2:25 ESV).
God’s promise of eternal life is unshakable. It is not based on our performance but on His faithfulness. In a world filled with uncertainty, this promise offers us a secure hope. As believers, we can hold fast to this truth, knowing that Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s promise. Eternal life is more than just a future in heaven; it begins the moment we place our trust in Him. Let this assurance guide us in our daily walk, encouraging us to live with purpose and to honor Christ with our lives.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of eternal life through Your Son. Help me to live in obedience to You, trusting in the promises You have made. Amen.
