Like the child sleeping in the backseat without concern for the road ahead, or that time you’re in the passenger seat, relinquishing control to the driver, there are many times throughout the day when we must have trust. That’s the simplest definition of faith.

Surrendered Confidence — “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV) What should it look like to trust beyond my own ability to figure everything out?

Quiet Confidence — “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” (Isaiah 30:15 ESV) Where do I need to return to rest instead of trying harder in my own strength?

Spiritual Move: Prayer of Rest — He promises rest, so bring your burden and exhaustion to Christ. “Return, O my soul, to your rest; for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.” (Psalm 116:7 ESV)
