We are indebted every day to workers we may not see. Every faucet we turn on, every switch we flip, every road we drive was made possible by someone we may never think about. Thousands of workers show up every day to do jobs that hold everything together. We have all seen the images of harvest time, fields full and ready, hands and tools working against the clock before the season turns. It seems there are never enough hands to get the job done.
Harvest Workers — “And he said to them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’” (Luke 10:2 ESV) Where do you see opportunities for good work that need more people to step up?
Labor Not in Vain — “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:58 ESV) What keeps you going when your work seems unnoticed?
Spiritual Move: Service — The practice of giving your time, gifts, and effort for the benefit of others. This is how love becomes visible in the world. “The greatest among you shall be your servant.” (Matthew 23:11 ESV)
