Nobody planted the oldest trees. Many arrived by accident — carried by a bird, lifted by wind, deposited by water in a place no one chose. They took root anyway and grew into something that outlasted the circumstances of their environment. Without a plan, soil and time were enough.
Oaks of Righteousness — “To grant to those who mourn in Zion — to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.” (Isaiah 61:3 ESV) What has taken root in you that you didn’t plant?
Built to Stand — “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.” (Matthew 7:24-25 ESV) What are you discovering about your foundation?
Spiritual Move: Rule of Life — A rule of life is not a rigid schedule — it is an intentional arrangement of your days around what matters most. What rhythms, practices, and relationships are forming you right now? Name them, and decide if they are producing roots or erosion. “They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God. They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green.” (Psalm 92:13-14 ESV)
