The 8 Moves polarities can function like a spiritual temperament assessment, where a person’s tendencies naturally align with certain polarities. Here’s one way to think about it:
An “A-type” (active, decisive, structured, task-focused) might lean toward:
Light – Certainty (seeks clarity and firm guidance)
Time – Action (responds quickly to seasons and opportunities)
Work – Community (contributes actively in teams or group goals)
Rebirth – Transformation (embraces change when it aligns with purpose)
A “B-type” (reflective, patient, relational, open-ended) might lean toward:
Water – Mystery (comfortable with flow and uncertainty)
Land – Contemplation (attunes to stability and spiritual observation)
Life – Individualism (values personal growth and identity in God)
Rest – Stability (prioritizes grounding, pause, and renewal)
The beauty of this framework is that everyone carries all eight Moves, but the assessment highlights where a person is naturally drawn or most comfortable, versus areas where growth and stretching might occur.
