“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1 ESV)
In the beginning, the Word existed as the Wisdom of God. Sustaining all things by the Word of life. Part of spiritual practice is tuning into this divine Word. Responding to the life-giving transformation wisdom offers.
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father.” (John 1:14 ESV)
The Logos/Word took on human form in the Person of Jesus. He dwells among humanity with grace and truth. We are invited to encounter the Eternal Word/Wisdom to experience His glory and embodied presence in the world.
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12 ESV)
Those who receive and believe in Christ are granted the incredible gift of becoming God’s children. They are heirs of the kingdom. Continuing on the journey we embrace the divine identity as beloved children in God’s family.
“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law.” (Galatians 4:4 ESV)
In the perfect time of God’s plan, Jesus was born into the world. He fulfilled the words of the law and offered salvation. Reflect on the perfect timing of God in human history and recognize how God is continuing to reveal himself even today.
