Called and Equipped

Posted on February 18, 2026February 23, 2026

Divine Summons — “I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.” (Ephesians 4:1-2 ESV) What sense of calling or purpose do I feel in my life?

Sent Purpose — “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 ESV) What am I meant to do or share with the world around me?

Prepared Service — “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God.” (Ephesians 4:11-13a ESV) Who has equipped or mentored me for the work I do?

Faithful Management — “This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.” (1 Corinthians 4:1-2 ESV) What have I been entrusted with that requires my faithful care?

Father’s Work — “So Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.’” (John 5:19 ESV) What would it look like to do my work in partnership with God rather than on my own?

Exalted Lordship — “Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.” (Acts 2:36 ESV) What does it mean to live under the lordship of someone who gave everything for me?
