The writer John has filled his book with metaphor, symbolism, and analogies. Here Jesus gives a principle and a promise. Do you notice the movement? I count six verbs in this verse.
“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'” (John 8:12 ESV)
