Like a door open to the daylight, time is more than just a passing measure—it is a gift filled with opportunities to act, grow, and make an impact. Every moment holds the potential to draw closer to God, serve others, and walk in our calling. When we recognize time as an opportunity, we begin to live with greater intention and purpose.
“Making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:16 ESV)
Paul reminds us that time should not be wasted. The world is filled with distractions, and it’s easy to let opportunities slip by. But God calls us to be mindful of the moments He gives us, using them to seek His will, pursue righteousness, and make a difference in the lives of others.
“Teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12 ESV)
Wisdom comes when we acknowledge that our time is limited. Instead of waiting for the perfect moment, we embrace the opportunities before us—choosing to love, serve, and grow in faith today. Each day is a chance to step into God’s plans and be faithful with the time we have.
Practice: Identify one opportunity God has placed before you—whether a conversation, a task, or a moment of growth. Commit to taking action today rather than postponing it.
Journal Prompt: What opportunities has God given you recently? How can you make the best use of your time in this season of life?
