Scattering Seeds of New Life
A seed must fall, be buried, and break open before new life can emerge. In this process, the seed as it was ceases to exist, giving way to something greater. The dandelion, though often overlooked, illustrates this beautifully. Once matured, its seeds are carried by the wind, spreading far and wide, multiplying life across the land.
Rebirth in Christ follows the same pattern—dying to the old, rising into the new, and being sent out. God’s renewal in our lives is never just for us; it comes with a calling. Just as the dandelion’s seeds are designed to scatter, we are meant to carry the good news of Christ wherever we go.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19 ESV)
Jesus’ final command to His disciples was not to keep their transformation to themselves, but to share it with the world. When we experience new life in Christ, we are entrusted with the same mission—to live in a way that reflects Him and draws others toward Him.
“As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” (John 20:21 ESV)
Rebirth is more than a fresh start; it is a new direction. Like seeds carried by the wind, we are sent into our relationships, workplaces, and communities with a purpose. Whether through words or actions, we are called to spread the love, truth, and hope of Christ.
Spiritual Move: Contemplation – Spend time in prayer, asking God where He is sending you. Reflect on areas of your life where you can be a witness to His love.
Try This: Identify one way to live out your mission this week—whether through an act of service, sharing your faith, or encouraging someone in their walk with Christ.
Journal Prompts: How has your rebirth in Christ changed your sense of purpose? In what ways is God calling you to scatter seeds of His love and truth? Write a prayer of commitment to live out your calling.
