Every spring, the natural world does something that should be impossible — it returns. Trees that looked finished push out new growth. Ground that was frozen opens again. The cycle doesn’t require the previous season to have gone well. It simply requires that winter end. You don’t have to have handled it perfectly to get another start.
Born from Above — “Jesus answered him, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.’ Nicodemus said to him, ‘How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?’” (John 3:3-4 ESV) What spiritual questions about transformation do you have for Jesus?
Living Hope — “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.” (1 Peter 1:3-4 ESV) How can you keep your hope alive?
Spiritual Move: Surrender — Release control of your day by taking up your cross as an act of radical trust. “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23 ESV)
