True Source — “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” (John 15:1-2 ESV) What does it mean to be connected to a source of life outside myself?
Vital Attachment — “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:4-5 ESV) What connection do I need to maintain in order to truly thrive?
Flourishing Abundance — “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10 ESV) What would an abundant, flourishing life look like for me?
Death Conquered — “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?’” (John 11:25-26 ESV) What would it mean if death wasn’t the final word?
Author of Life — “And you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.” (Acts 3:15 ESV) What does it mean that the one who designed life itself conquered death?
Prince of Life — “For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.” (Romans 14:9 ESV) What does it mean to have a Lord who has authority over both life and death?
