Light reveals, guides, and brings clarity. Jesus calls us to be light in a world that often feels dark and confusing. Just as a lamp isn’t meant to be hidden, our faith is meant to shine. When we reflect God’s truth and love, we illuminate the path for others.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5:14 ESV)
Light isn’t silent—it’s seen from a distance. A city on a hill stands as a beacon of hope, drawing others toward safety. As followers of Christ, our lives should shine with His presence, standing out not for our own glory but as a reflection of His goodness.
“No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light.” (Luke 8:16 ESV)
Faith is not meant to be hidden. When we live boldly for Christ, our actions and words become a light that draws others toward Him. The way we love, serve, and stand for truth matters.
Practice: Light a candle or turn on a lamp in a dark room. Reflect on how even a small light changes the atmosphere. Ask God to help you shine His light wherever you go.
Journal Prompt: In what areas of your life are you tempted to hide your faith? How can you let your light shine more boldly this week?
