Fourteen: Cultivating the Ground

Posted on March 15, 2026April 8, 2026

A field left fallow doesn’t stay the same. In a single season it returns to wildness. Weeds fill the gaps, soil compacts, and what once produced a harvest waits for someone to tend it again.

Yielding Increase — “The land yielded its increase, and God, our God, blessed us.” (Psalm 67:6 ESV) Where is something you tended producing more than expected?

Due Season — “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9 ESV) What are you tempted to quit before the harvest?

Spiritual Move: Stewardship — This is giving careful attention to what is in your hands. Fields, responsibilities and resources all need effective leadership, management, and protection. “Whoever tends a fig tree will eat its fruit, and he who guards his master will be honored.” (Proverbs 27:18 ESV)
