Your eye’s sensitivity to light increases by a factor of nearly one million after hours in darkness. The longer the night, the more we can see. Some understanding can only be discovered after waiting.
A Principle for Understanding — “The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.” (Psalm 119:130 ESV) Where do you most need light right now?
No Shadow Side — “This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5 ESV) How does a completely trustworthy goodness change the way you approach God?
Spiritual Move: Visio Divina — The practice of praying through a visual image — a candle flame, a sunrise, a stained glass window — letting what you see become a doorway into what you cannot yet fully articulate. Slow down. Look. Let the image ask its question. “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.” (Psalm 19:1 ESV)
