We have all been surprised by a party or a gift. Someone was thinking of us before we knew it. We say, “You shouldn’t have.” Sometimes we have no idea, we think, what is the special occasion? They say, “Just because I was thinking of you, I care.” Wasn’t life itself like that, a surprise from someone who cared?
Breathed into Being — “Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.” (Genesis 2:7 ESV) Where does the fact that you are alive surprise you?
Life and Breath and Everything — “He gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.” (Acts 17:25 ESV) What are you receiving that you didn’t produce?
Spiritual Move: Spiritual Friendship — This is the practice of staying close to someone who helps you stay close to God through companionship and accountability through life. “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:17 ESV)
