Before our phones and satellite technology, analog was the only way to go. We have held a compass, either playing as a child or using it more seriously as a hiker with a map. After the needle has spun for a while, we’ve seen it settle on true north. Magnetism has always been mysterious, and the journey into new terrain is disorienting. If the tool isn’t used properly, we are sure to stay lost.
Reasoning Together — “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18 ESV) What is in my painful past that is in need of cleansing?
Kingdom Proximity — “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:15 ESV) How should I respond to the gospel, good news?
Spiritual Move: Surrender — Release control of your day by taking up your cross as an act of radical trust. “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23 ESV)
