We have stood in front of a mirror without really looking. A mirror doesn’t analyze or improve what stands before it — it simply receives and reflects. The quality of what you see depends entirely on how long you stay. Spiritual formation works something like this. Not striving. Staying. What changes when you stop moving long enough to be seen?
Changed by Beholding — “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” (2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV) Where are you striving instead of simply staying in the present?
No Lamp Needed — “And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 22:5 ESV) What are you living toward that is bigger than your current circumstances?
Spiritual Move: Journaling — Write today not about what you need to fix, but about what you notice. Where has the light shifted in you — even slightly — over this arc? Transformation is rarely visible until you look back. Let the page hold what you are becoming. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10 ESV)
