Forty-Eight: Let It Wash You Clean

Posted on July 7, 2026July 7, 2026

Note: The Daily Check-In was missing for a while, you can try it today.

Most of us clean something every single day without thinking twice about it — body, food, wounds, countertops. Water is so woven into the rhythm of ordinary life that we stop noticing it works. Soap has a dual nature: one side draws water, the other draws grease, and together they carry the stain away. Something in us has always known we need this. What are you still carrying that water was made to remove?

I Will Cleanse You — “I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.” (Ezekiel 36:25 ESV) Where are you still trying to clean yourself up?

Grace-Given Renewal — “He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior.” (Titus 3:5-6 ESV) Where do you need the gift of renewal rather than achievement?

Spiritual Move: Confession — Find someone you trust and speak what has been sitting unspoken. Confession is not self-punishment — it is the relief of bringing what is hidden into the light of grace. What you name loses its hold. “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” (James 5:16 ESV)
