Forty-Seven: Let It Spring from Within

Posted on July 6, 2026July 7, 2026

We know what it feels like to run dry and have to go looking for water again. A well requires you to return — draw, carry, use, repeat. It is a good system until the moment you most need water and have nothing left in the jar. What if the supply didn’t depend on the trip? What are you still walking back to fill?

Never Thirst Again — “But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:14 ESV) What well have you been returning to that keeps running dry?

Water on Dry Ground — “For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.” (Isaiah 44:3 ESV) Where in your life do you most need the Spirit poured out?

Spiritual Move: Lectio Divina — Return today to a single passage of Scripture and drink from it slowly. Lectio: read it unhurried. Meditatio: stay with the word or phrase that surfaces. Oratio: respond honestly in prayer. Contemplatio: rest in what God has given. Stay until you sense a change. “Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.” (Psalm 119:18 ESV)
