Fifty: Admit You’re Thirsty

We reach for something the moment desire arrives — coffee, a screen, noise, motion. We have more beverage options than any generation before us, and we are still, somehow, not satisfied. Plain water remains the only thing the body actually needs. The craving keeps returning because the substitutes don’t resolve it. What are you reaching for that was never going to be enough?

The Wounded Side — “But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water.” (John 19:34 ESV) Where have you found life on the other side of pain?

No More Thirst — “They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” (Revelation 7:16-17 ESV) What in you feels like it may never be satisfied?

Spiritual Move: Silence & Solitude — The Water arc ends where all flow ends — in stillness. Leave the noise today and simply be present. No agenda, no words, no output. Let the soul settle like water finding its level. “But the LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him.” (Habakkuk 2:20 ESV)
