You have stared too long at a bright object and found the shape could still be seen when you close your eyes. Your eyeball and retina have been physically changed by your point of view. What you looked at is still with you after you look away.
Light Bearers — “Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.” (Philippians 2:14-15 ESV) How are you shining the light in your circumstances?
The Eye of the Lamp — “No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness. Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays gives you light.” (Luke 11:33-36 ESV) What are you currently looking at most?
Spiritual Move: Bible Study — The discipline of observing, interpreting, and applying the lessons of scripture in order to gather the truth so it will impact you personally and transform you from the inside out. The principles of study can also be applied to other sources of information, knowledge, and truth for the good of the community. “For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching a light, and the reproofs of discipline are the way of life.” (Proverbs 6:23 ESV)
