Every major civilization that has existed has produced some account of what happens after death. The specifics differ wildly, but the question never changes. Something in us asks, “Where am I going?” and will not let the question go.
Eternal Longing — “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 ESV) What do you keep wanting that nothing here fully provides?
Glory to be Revealed — “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” (Romans 8:18 ESV) What present struggle looks different when you compare it to your future?
Spiritual Move: Seasonal Discernment — The practice of naming your current season and finding what it requires. Sit with where you are before deciding where to go. “He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.” (Daniel 2:21 ESV)
