You have eaten fruit picked too soon; the sour taste is a strong reminder to wait until things are right. Shortcuts fail to do what patience and care accomplish.

Active Expectancy — “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:31 ESV) What is the waiting doing in you?

Divine Forbearance — “But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” (2 Peter 3:8-9 ESV) Where is slowness easily confusing?

Spiritual Move: Waiting on God — The practice of surrendering time and agenda and being released from the burden of results. “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” (Psalm 27:14 ESV)
